From David's beginnings as a forester and furniture maker, a deep connection to nature was built. His sea-fearing journies around the world gave him and an even deeper respect for nature. With his young family in the 80's they stayed onshore in various pacific islands which gave him an awareness of living in harmony with the earth. The company is no different, every single product is the result from inspections and inspirations from mother nature. The processing and manufacturing of our designs is done environmentally as possible.

The Journey So Far
David's path to where we are today is quite unconventional. In fact, he didn't plan to start a global lighting business nor did he plan to settle in New Zealand. Being an adventurer and risk-taker anything could happen.

Ever since he was a child, recycling used matchsticks off the promenade for model making, David has imbued his creativity with a sense of care. Care is the essence of craft. That care ranges from caring about the longevity of a well-made product, to caring that the owner is enriched by it and—most important of all now—caring for its effect on the environment. That caring continues to be embedded in the company today.
